Scouting Needs You

There is a lot more to running a scout troop, pack, or crew than loading up gear and going on campouts. So it makes sense that there are MANY opportunities for parents and families to be involved in Scouting.

Troop 1020 relies on the skills, resources, time, and energy of involved adults to provide the best scouting experience possible for our youth. Whether large or small, every contribution helps, and not all involvement requires becoming a Scouter. Although, ask any Scouter and we're sure they'll tell you it's worth every minute!

So please Contact Us if you'd like help make Scouting everything it can be for our youth.

Keep checking back on this page for more opportunities to come!

Ways to get involved

  • Become a Scouter (see Be A Pedro below)
  • Serve on the troop committee
  • Help with fundraisers
  • Scout house maintenance
  • Volunteer Mower Brigade

Values of Scouting - Be part of the success

BE A PEDRO

There are many positions in our troop. Several positions rotate out as needs change in life, family and home. If there is a position you would be interested in and want to be part of that succession, please step up and let yourself be known!

Currently, we have some positions that are vacant or are carried by those who are wearing several other hats.

Treasurer Assistant -
Assisting our most awesome treasurer.

Quarter Master -
Helps to maintain and organize repair of troop equipment.

Advancement Chair
The advancement position is definently one of the most critical positions in our troop. If you feel you can help with advancements, please step forward.

Outdoor Committee Assistant-
Assist the Outdoor Committee Chair and help the boys plan their events, help secure venues and process tour permits. Please let us know if you would like to help in this capacity!

Chaplian Aid -
This individual will work closely with the Scout position of Chaplain's Aide in teaching them how to plan and deliver services at scout functions. This individual will also be responsible to work with the boys on fulfilling their Religious Emblems by running programs and being available for their development.

Health and Safety Officer
Help to keep up with medical forms and prepare them for campouts. Collect medications and organize a schedule for administration during outings. Maintain the troop's first aid kit. * YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CAMP TO DO THIS - you just need to help get it organized *
